What happens when the Top Down model of the world butts up again the Bottom Up model of The Kingdom? This week we look at how Jesus responds to a basic, dirty, need -- even though He is the most important person around, and how we ought to respond to such needs ourselves.

In a world devoted to ‘best practices’ it is remarkable that one ‘best practice’ that Jesus both engaged in personally and assumed His disciples would employ, is all but forgotten today. Fasting is likely the least utilized ‘best practice’ of the Christian life… even though Jesus explained that a lack of fasting results in spiritual anemia. This week we will take a closer look at how a little hunger can be spiritually fulfilling!
Have you ever wondered why people of all persuasions and belief systems pray? The short answer is, because we can’t help ourselves. It is instinctive. But what does the person ‘In Christ’ look like when they pray? Do we approach God differently? Do we pray different kinds of prayers? This message addresses these questions.

The big question for many of us is: "How do I remain in Christ… how do I walk with Jesus daily so I can see the works He has made for me to do?" Sometimes we underestimate the basics. When Jesus spent His last night with His disciples He made to things clear: To ‘remain’ in relationship with Him… His words would need to be in His disciples, and obeyed. When does life start to make sense? This week, as we study the life of Moses, we will see that the chaos comes to clarity when Moses responds to God’s drawing of him. The journey of finding his life continues for Moses when he learns that obedience, even in the secret places is essential for life. Finally Moses graduates from a life of mere serving - to a friendship with God.

Do you have a gap? By ‘gap’ I mean, an awareness of the distance that stands between who you are, and who you desire to be. What if this awareness is actually one of God’s mercies? What it is one way God reveals to us who He is calling us to become? This week we will consider how God redeems us, how he masterfully uses His tools of person-shaping to close that gap between who we are, and who God is calling us to be.

Have you ever asked yourself why young people are so filled with desire to make a difference in their world, but as they grow older they often lose a sense of purpose? Is it just a product of growing up? Or has something been stolen from us as we are affected by the forces of ‘the world’? The apostle Paul defined redemption as a transformation from conformity… of living a life that is filled with purpose, that is a force for good, pleasing, and fulfilling.
