 What is Baptism?

The First Step of Obedience

We believe the Bible clearly teaches us that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a Christ-follower to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to Christ. In Scripture, we see that people were:

1. Baptized after they made a decision to follow Christ and

2. Baptized by immersion to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

Baptisms are offered during our Saturday evening and Sunday morning services, and annually at The Cove service. We ask that you meet with one of our campus Pastors prior to scheduling your baptism date. We would be happy to answer any questions you have about baptism, or if you would like to schedule an appointment contact Erin Smith at the church office at 865-777-2121 or Erin.Smith@TwoRiversChurch.org
